School Prom Hair Styling

I can still recall a few years back my sister was moaning about how much time and money was spent trying to sort out my niece’s school prom night.  I thought she was really exaggerating and making most of it up!

However, now that my own daughter’s prom is but a matter of weeks away, I have certainly seen what my sister was talking about.

It would seem that to a teenager, their school prom is one of the most important events in their life.  In all honesty the planning that has gone into it is absolutely meticulous.Right from the outset I set a budget because I didn’t want my spending to get out of hand.

First on the list to organise was the dress.  We decided to get this made by a dressmaker friend of ours. This was my decision though as I didn’t want my daughter to be embarrassed by turning up in an identical dress to other girls. With the dress decided upon, next on the hit list was trying to find a nice pair of shoes.  Not any old shoes, they had to be the right height heel, the right colour and on top of that be comfortable for dancing in.  Not easy, I am sure you will agree?

Next to think about was hiring the limousine.  I must be a bit out of touch with hire charges, as I thought the company were having a laugh with their quote, it was absolutely astronomical.  I can’t believe that it costs so much just for 15 minutes in a limousine.A few of her friends will be sharing the limo with her so thank goodness we can split the cost of the hire with their parents.

So that’s the dress, shoes and transport sorted.Next to sort out was what sort of hair style she wanted for the night. Her hair is long and straight and she always seems to wear it down so she wanted to try experimenting with a few different styles.  She thought maybe wavy hair would be nice, but in all honesty it’s tricky to achieve without investing in some curly hair products.  So that’s what we did and wow she is now able to achieve curly hair styles with very little effort. In fact because they are so simple to use my nieces both keep dropping by to use them!

I hope after all this effort my daughter really enjoys her evening and that it is all she hopes it will be – with all the money I have spent, it had better be!!

How To Choose Watches For Any Occasion

IF you have decided that you need to pick a style of watch and stick to it, no doubt you’ve been confronted with an event that makes that one style a little hard to pull off. To find a good leather watch is definitely a starting point, but it can be a little hard, even if you’re looking both at in person shops and online.

Before you begin to shop around for the kind of watch you think will suit your style best, stop to consider your style, and if there are variations you go through on a day to day basis. Figuring out what your needs are first will enable you to make a better choice in what sorts of watches you need.

If you are not a very active person, then a digital sport watch may not be for you. However, for those that do lead really active, fast paced lives, there is a need for something more hardy and long lasting. The problem is you cannot pair this watch with just any outfit. If you’re going to have to attend an event where formal attire is required, that big bulky watch may not be best.

You would not want to wear a bulky sort of sport oriented watch to a more upscale event. Keeping three watches for assorted occasions may be a good idea to make sure that no matter what the occasion, you have the proper accessory.

Some need to be able to see the time at a glance. Being able to have a graphic lcd screen may help this, for those people. This is one need that you may want to consider, but it does not really matter what style you need- having those basics in mind can help you choose the right watches.

If you feel you need a digital screen, even some of the most high dollar watches made for the most sophisticated of occasions have those, now. Stop to consider the basic functions you want your watch to perform, and make a list- most of the things you will find that you need, can be easily found in many different styles. Figuring out your essential needs will make finding the perfect watch for any occasion much easier for you.

Once you have a pretty good idea of all of these things, you may consider how often you attend each type of event. If you find that you attend more outdoors functions, then perhaps finding a more durable sports watch is needed. However, if you do attend many formal situations, finding a solid formal watch may be key.

How to Opt a Vast Quality of MMA Apparel

Mixed martial arts are certainly popular, and any amateur with a bit of experience in fight training owns at least one main MMA apparel item. Usually, manufacturers of MMA apparel promote their products thanks to one champion or another that wears their products in combat, and sales do increase with victory. Good stitches and quality fabrics: this is what defines good MMA apparel, but products do differ. Improperly stitched seams will fall apart during very intense training. Do not pay lots of money without inspecting the clothes craftsmanship.

One disadvantage of MMA apparel is the high cost, which is why cheap but poor quality products sell very well. The fabrics are very important for MMA apparel features; first of all, the material has to wick away sweat and then, it needs to stick to the body moving together with the athlete. Clothes that move against you offer a great chance for the opponent to grip or grapple. Therefore, choose MMA apparel products that are made of a nylon/cotton-spandex combination.

Spandex gives resistance to the fabric regardless of the rest of the components. Comfort is also an important issue here given the fact that MMA apparel items ought to remain nice to wear without the risk of cutting into the skin. Just think what a nightmare uncomfortable shorts would be in the cage. This is the last thing you should be worrying about when you are in there. Finally, the brand plays an important part for the choice of the right MMA apparel, mostly because of the high price that not too many people can afford to invest.

Headgear, shin pads, gloves, shorts and rashguard represent the main items of MMA apparel used both for training and for combat. Sprawl and Cagewalk are some very popular brands of MMA products that you can choose from. The quality is visible in the split seams, the drawstrings, the closures and the durability. There are different things to check in the MMA apparel, depending on what items you are planning to buy. Gloves, for instance, should be tight and matching the sparring, pad work and bag work. The options available should allow for a very good choice. The important thing is to have quality in mind when you shop for MMA apparel: don’t rush for great prices or for wonder materials.

Make Your Own Customised Board Shorts

Make Your Own Board Shorts

Board shorts were originally designed for surfers but these days they’re worn by everyone from grannies to toddlers. These days they are beachwear essentials, even if you’re not a surfer. Although summer is still a few months away I’m already thinking about my summer wardrobe and thought I’d share a little inspiration to make a pair of board shorts.

The most simple way to make a pair of board shorts is to take a worn out pair of jeans and simply cut off the legs above the knee.To make these really simply you don’t really need to hem the legs. Let them fray as this just adds to their character.

Unfortunately wet denim can be quite heavy and abrasive so this style of homemade board shorts is not likely to be suitable for surfing or other water sports. But they look really cool with a vest or t-shirt, a pair of flip flops and a cool pair of sunglasses.

To customise your new shorts with a few neat embellishments you will need to be useful with a needle and thread. One of my favourite customisation touches is to remove the rear pockets and replace them with some brightly colored material. I also like to add a few decals and patches to them and sometimes I embroider the front pocket edges. I then wear the shorts with a long silk scarf threaded through the waist band as a belt. My boyfriend really loves the way these custom, homemade board shorts look when I wear them.

An alternative to denim jeans is to start with a pair of suit trousers. These can look really cool when cut down into board shorts, with a few embellishments. You will need to hem most old suit trousers to stop them coming apart. As for the denim board shorts, I always add a few personalized touches. You might like to add some handy side pockets made from brightly colored material or maybe embeillish the waist band.

You can find plenty of old trousers at your nearest charity shop. You will find plenty of old trousers to choose from, ideal for recycling into a fresh and funky pair of board shorts.

Dress For Success On The Slopes

If you have a ski vacation planned, it is important that you have the correct clothing and equipment inn order for the trip to be a success. Ski clothing can be both functional and look great. It can offer the needed freedom of movement and also keep you warm for the trip. Be sure that you choose carefully.

Being prepared for the slopes begins with what you are wearing underneath. Thermal underwear has changed a lot in the past twenty years. They are now slimmer and made of fabrics that are better at wicking away moisture.

You will need a ski parka. These jackets have also slimmed down through the years. A parka with a removable lining will keep you warmer. The outer shell will keep you dry and the inner lining can easily be removed for cleaning.

When choosing pants for skiing, make sure that they have snow cuffs. These cuffs help to keep the snow on the outside, even when you slide down the hill rather than ski down it.

Make sure you dress in layers. This helps in the wicking away of moisture from your body, but also allows you to adjust your clothing so that you can take off an extra layer or two if you begin to get too warm.

Do not forget the importance of brain protection. A simple ski helmet could have prevented many skiers from paralysis or even death. Remember that you are traveling at a fairly high rate of speed on skis.

Since black goes with everything, a wise skier will choose a black helmet. Then if he has more than one set of outer wear, the helmet will match each set. It will ensure that you look great and still protect your head while enjoying the sport.

When packing, be sure that you throw in your men’s sport watch so that you are on time when you need to meet your group for lunch or need an alarm clock to wake up to get ready for the next day. At the end of the day the watch can help you determine if you have time for one more run.

One key to a successful ski vacation is planning ahead. This allows you to have necessary protective gear as well as the correct clothing. You will be dressed fashionably and be able to stay nice and warm from head to toe for the entire trip.

Being Prepared And Looking Great On The Slopes

Whether you’re an avid skier or just picking up on the sport, you’ll notice that when you get near to the slopes, you’re entering quite a different world from what you are used to. The fact is, skiers often take the sport seriously and dress as fashionably as they can, with both the latest equipment and attire.

A lot of people may sometimes feel a little intimidated because the other avid skiers are wearing the latest fashions in ski wear. In case you have not noticed, skiing can easily be one of the most expensive sports to partake in, for obvious reasons. But, the benefits are many. You get to exercise outside, taken some fresh air and some beautiful surroundings, all the while meeting wonderful and exciting people.

Therefore, this gives you a little incentive into the way you will look up their. Aside from the fashion however it’s very important to pay attention to your safety. Wearing a ski helmet is very highly recommended. Plus, it’s important to keep up with your skis, taking extra care to prepare them for the type of conditions that you’ll be facing on that day.

When buying protective head gear, you might be better off purchasing a black helmet. This will save you a lot of money down the line. It is simply because you can match black with practically any other color. So, it is the wisest choice to keep your costs down.

When skiing with friends, it’s important to be able to stay in touch with each other to some degree. With the help of a digital sport watch, you can easily synchronize meeting times and places. That way you can all enjoy some apres-ski at the same time, or sit down and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate together when you take a break.

You have probably heard that after skiers finished with their exercise and have gotten enough fresh air, they love their apres ski. It’s a great time for people to share together who have lots of similar interests, or at least the one with skiing.

While it’s always great to look good no matter what you’re doing, being safe is your number one priority. Remember to pack these items along with you on all your ski trips, along with the rest of your equipment and gear. Try to avoid forgetting anything at all, as you will be forced to purchase the same items again. And, if you’ve ever been to ski resorts, you’ll know that they are quite costly at tourist locations such as these.

Find the Right Sunglasses For Your Sports Play

Different from casual eyewear, sports sunglasses are practical items that incorporate special technical features. While fancy sunglasses make a combination of protection and style features, sports sunglasses emphasize their functional size over the trendy one. Although they are designed according to the latest trends such equipment items meet the needs of a user who spends most of the time outdoors. There has to be maximum visibility, full blockage of harmful radiation and protection against debris as the main expectations you can formulate in relation with sports sunglasses. Cycling, extreme sports, hiking and even golfing require the use of special protective sunglasses to stop the eye contact with the UV rays.

There are even sports sunglasses that combine the casual street style with the extreme sports requirements. You will fully appreciate the anti-glare features and the quality of the polarization when snowboarding, skiing or practicing any outdoor sport. Face hugging contours, high precision hinges and self-locking screws, these are indeed features that you’ll only encounter with certain high quality sports sunglasses. For increased durability and resistance to impact, sports sunglasses normally rely on nylon frames and polycarbonate lenses. Glass is unacceptable from the start because of the breakage risks.

Cyclists need special sports sunglasses with a good fit on the face because this kind of eyewear stops not only the ultraviolet radiations but the tiny debris on the road and the insects that the cyclist hits when pedaling at high speeds. Good sports sunglasses allow the wearer to focus exclusively on the activity without having to squint the eyes or rub them in order to improve visibility and get the dust out. Therefore, wraparounds could be the best sports sunglasses ever invented thanks to the full protection they provide to the eyes.

Sports sunglasses are available in such a variety of models and designs that it is very difficult to make a choice sometimes. The best place to shop for these items is at an optician shop and not on the Internet. Not being able to try the glasses on could be a major disadvantage as you don’t know how they fit. Even if you get the right size, the entire physiognomy could be responsible for the mismatch. Maybe the design is not good for your nose, eyes and face shape, and you need to search a bit more; this is the reason why Internet orders may fail to satisfy your needs.

Keep An Eye To Fashion On The Slopes

If you have a ski vacation planned, it is important that you have the correct clothing and equipment inn order for the trip to be a success. Ski clothing can be both functional and look great. It can offer the needed freedom of movement and also keep you warm for the trip. Be sure that you choose carefully.

Good preparation begins with the inner most layers. There have been many changes in long johns over the past few years. New thermal under wear is thinner and more effectively wicks away moisture from your body.

Do not forget your parka. Parkas have lost bulk over the years also. If you choose a parka that has a removable lining, you can stay warmer and dryer. The outer shell keeps the melted snow away from your body and the inner one allows for easy cleaning.

Pants should have snow cuffs. These fabric flaps fold inside the pants in order to keep the snow outside. Even skiers that do an ungraceful slide down the slope on their bottom will be toasty and dry inside.

It is easy to work up a sweat when skiing. Dressing in layers allows you to remove one or more layers if you get too warm. In addition, the layers also help to keep moisture from collecting near your body.

Do not forget the importance of brain protection. A simple ski helmet could have prevented many skiers from paralysis or even death. Remember that you are traveling at a fairly high rate of speed on skis.

Choose a black helmet and you will not have to replace it every time you get new ski outerwear. If you have more than one set of outerwear for the trip the one helmet will match everything. Remember the helmet to protect your brain from a serious or fatal brain injury.

Do not forget to bring your men’s sport watch. It will let you know when your are to meet your group for lunch or serve as an alarm clock in the morning and allow you to know if you have time for another run before it is time to head back to your room for the night or out on the town.

One key to a successful ski vacation is planning ahead. This allows you to have necessary protective gear as well as the correct clothing. You will be dressed fashionably and be able to stay nice and warm from head to toe for the entire trip.
